My hope is to start a new series of blogs posts called "Practical Christianity." I am doing this for 3 main reasons:
1. Sometimes the Christian faith is caricatured as being "unpractical" and thus "unhelpful" to daily human life.
2. the tradition that I am part of (broadly know as the "Reformed tradition") puts emphasis on the fact that Jesus Christ is Lord (leader, "boss") of every area of our lives.
3. As a pastor I need help to make the Christian faith, along with being robustly intellectual and emotional, more practical. Thus not "less intellecutal and less emotional" but rather intellectual and emotional along with being very practical. Some have imaged this as (1) head (intellectual, heart (emotions) and hands (practical). I like that.
In this series of blog posts I will focus on the "hands" aspect of the Christian life.
